Find the Cause of Digestive Issues
An upper endoscopy is one of our best tools for examining and evaluating the digestive tract and detecting any problems that could be causing your throat, stomach, or other digestive issues.
Don’t spend another day in discomfort or fear.
You are in good hands with our experienced gastroenterologists.
Why Do You Need An Upper Endoscopy?
There are some stomach, intestinal, and esophageal issues that our patients experience that we are unable to properly diagnose with a consultation or physical exam alone. Sometimes further diagnostic testing is required to get to the heart of the problems.
Here are a few situations where our team may recommend getting an upper endoscopy:
- Evaluate digestive symptoms such as persistent heartburn, acid reflux, or abdominal pain.
- Determine the extent or seriousness of a digestive disorder.
- Evaluate a current digestive condition.
- Take a biopsy of the lining of the digestive tract.
- Perform a cancer screening for those who have symptoms or risk factors.
- Remove a polyp or small tumor.
- Stop internal bleeding and determine the cause.

- We will take your vital signs.
- You’ll receive pain medication and sedation to help you relax.
- A thin, flexible tube with a camera attached is carefully inserted into the throat and down into the stomach so we can examine the lining and look for ulcers, bleeds, or other problems.
